If the 9 p.m. hour were an episode of Sesame Street, it would have been brought to us by the word "affadavit" and the phrase "for the good of the country." Once again, Jack Bauer had very little to do, but hijinks in the White House bunker and interterrorist rivalries between Gredenko and Fayed almost made up for his absence from the screen. Tom Lennox found a very creative use for the only interior-design accessory in the entire bunker, President Wayne Palmer became an adrenaline addict, and Gredenko was rendered harmless by the end of the show.
As part of Slate's Spoiler Special podcast series, we've been hosting regular "post-view" discussions of Season 6 of 24. (Click here to listen to a discussion of the first four hours, here for a discussion of Hour 5, here for Hour 6, here for Hour 7, here for Hours 8 and 9, here for Hour 10, here for Hour 11, here for Hour 12, here for Hour 13, here for Hour 14, and here for Hour 15.)
In this podcast, Slate's June Thomas and Julia Turner ask if Vice President Noah Daniels is a patriot or a plotter, wonder if Tom Doyle is an earnest spiritual quester or a twisted schemer, and ponder if Chloe O'Brian has taken a vow of silence.
Because we reveal plot twists in these chats, we recommend—but don't insist—that you watch the show before listening to the program.
