A daily roundup of the biggest stories in right-wing media.

Many on the left were full of praise for former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates after her appearance at the Senate’s Russian interference panel on Monday. Conservative media, however, had a different take.

On his radio show, Rush Limbaugh claimed that the hearing had bored him, telling his listeners that Yates is “a leftist hack, and the whole thing yesterday was a big bomb.” Fox News’ Brit Hume was also generally dismissive of Yates’ appearance, observing, “I don’t think we learned a great deal that’s new.” He suggested that the “big takeaway” was that former Trump National Security Adviser Mike Flynn wasn’t trustworthy, which he said wasn’t that meaningful, since Flynn had already been fired. LifeZette likewise argued that Yates’ testimony—and that of former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who also appeared at the hearing—was “not so harmful to President Donald Trump.

The Daily Caller suggested that Yates had actually done Trump a favor by expressing confidence in Trump appointee Rod Rosenstein, who is now Jeff Sessions’ No. 2. “Yates’ vote of confidence in Rosenstein nullifies demands from some Democrats in Monday’s hearing for the appointment of an outside prosecutor take over the investigation,” the site wrote.

In Breitbart, Joel Pollak praised Sen. Ted Cruz for his aggressive exchange with Yates, clips of which have circulated widely, arguing that the senator had “proved his case decisively.” Pollak wrote:

The left thinks Yates won the exchange because she was well-prepared with a set of talking points, and offered a snappy response. That shows how desperate Democrats are to salvage something out of the hearing—which failed to produce any new evidence to back up their Russian conspiracy theories—and also how urgently they need to find new champions.

Taking a similar line in a Fox & Friends appearance, Laura Ingraham joked that we had learned only one thing from the hearing: that “the Democrats want to put Sally Yates up on Mount Rushmore. Or they want erect statues of her in the places of all the Confederate soldier statues being pulled down down south.” She also insisted that leaks and unmaskings remained the most important details of the larger story:

Posts about Yates performed well on Facebook, too:

Though Kellyanne Conway has largely disappeared from the spotlight, some conservative sites still found reason to cover her on Tuesday. “Liberal Goon Harasses Kellyanne Conway at DC Airport – Kellyanne Goes After Him,” read a headline on Gateway Pundit. The Daily Caller went into more detail, reporting that Conway had “ripped” a man who shouted “Keep trashing America” at her. Things apparently escalated from there: According to the Daily Caller, “A source on the scene said two members of the Secret Service had to hold President Trump’s counselor back from yelling at the white male.”
