Hear Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy Play 12 New Songs
Just days after Jeff Tweedy made “dad rock” literal by announcing he was forming a band with his son, the Wilco singer-songwriter has already debuted an album’s worth of new material. Tweedy played Mountain Jam over the weekend, and he began his set by playing a full 12 new songs.
As Stereogum suggests, the new songs will likely appear on Sukierae, Tweedy’s album with his son, due out this fall. Tweedy didn’t play the one single we’ve heard from that album, “I’ll Sing It,” but one song from the set, “Diamond Light,” will be out on a 10-inch single next week. You can download the whole set, which also included some old material from Wilco and Uncle Tupelo, from NYCTaper, or stream it below. To hear the whole album, we’ll have to wait until Sep. 16.
