Did You See This? The Wire as a Video Game

What if The Wire were a video game? That’s the premise of this new video from the folks at College Humor. For the video below the site imagined an incredibly detailed—and thematically faithful—8-bit adaptation of the Dickensian drama.

As the indelible street hustler Omar might say, “It’s all in the game.” When Omar’s coming, “The Farmer and the Dell” plays in the background, and another stand-out level mimics word for word the famous scene in which four minutes of dialogue consist solely of “fuck” and “motherfucker.” Of course, there are also some reasons why The Wire would never truly work as a video game. By the time you’re finished playing, you may come to the same conclusion as Bodie: This game is rigged, man.
