What Should We Call the 2016 Blizzard?

Ever since the great Snowmageddon of 2010, it’s become grand winter tradition to give punny names to record-setting blizzards. While the Weather Channel has named the imminent, massive East Coast blizzard “Jonas,” the Internet has more creative ideas. Washington Post readers voted for “Make Winter Great Again,” but its weather blog went with the pithier runner-up “Snowzilla.” Others have suggested “SnowNino,” alluding to the powerful El Niño phase that bears some responsibility for the high snowfall, and “David Snowie,” to honor the late David Bowie. Edward Snowden joined in on the fun with a cringe-worthy pun.
