Earlier this week, First Lady Michelle Obama announced that she helped shatter the Guinness World Record for the most people wheezing through jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. On Oct. 11, she corralled 464 elementary and middle-school kids on the White House’s South Lawn for a global jumping jacks event. Around the world, a total of 300,265 people participated in the event, breaking the previous record of just over 20,000, Obama reported in the video. But Oct. 11 wasn’t the first time the first lady grabbed some serious air. Check out the following photos for her best airborne moments. Soccer Star: Oct. 6, 2011
A couple of questions arise from this photo: Did she just kick the ball, or is she simply jumping for fun? Did she plan this move ahead of time with the kid in the background, who appears to be mirroring her? We’ll never know. We do know that this was a “Let’s Move” soccer clinic on the White House’s South Lawn. The first lady hosted members of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and kids from soccer organizations in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
