I'm so flabbergasted by the news that Al and Tipper, my marital heroes, are separating that I have no coherent thoughts, only Twitter-length ones. Such as:

1. They've been dating since high school!

2. Is everything you read in Politico true?

3. Is there no Santa Claus?

4. Is this because Erich Segal died?

5. Is the Nobel Prize some kind of curse?

6. Did anyone think their marriage would outlast the Clintons?
