Kid Cudi has been making headlines for some unfortunate reasons lately, including celebrity sparring matches on Twitter and, more seriously, seeking help for his mental health struggles. But some good news to close out 2016: Cudi’s new studio album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, has been released and is now available for streaming.

While there are a few hip -op artists predictably not featured here, Demon Slayin’ does feature several intriguing contributors, including Willow Smith, Pharrell, and André Benjamin. And if the title of the album is any indication, Cudi’s willingness to discuss and confront his personal struggles is still right there in his work. In “ILLusions,” he sings, “I think I was about 13/ The darkness had me diseased/ A young warrior on my own/ I choose to take control.”
