Donald Trump impersonations are a dime a dozen these days, but we might have a winner as to who could give the presumptive Republican presidential nominee the definitive biopic treatment: Bryan Cranston. Having already proven himself as an impressive portrayer of loud, brash political figures in American life, the actor sat down with Carson Daly on the Today show and promptly expressed a desire to get under that (alleged) hairpiece and into the mind of what he calls a “serio-tragic-comedic” character.

This impersonation is certainly worth keeping an eye on in the ongoing Trump impression sweepstakes. When asked to share a sliver of his take on Trump, Cranston came back with a pitch-perfect “yuuge” and some eerily accurate hand gestures. Plus, his noted interest in the complexities of the Donald makes for a welcome change of pace, especially in comparison to Meryl Streep’s master class in buffoonery and Jimmy Fallon’s reliably funny imitation, among many others.

And there’s certainly something to idea of watching the former One Who Knocks take Trump on a Walter White–esque journey—one in which, just when you think the man can’t get any worse, he surpasses your darkest expectations.
