Shortly after Prince’s death in April, five members of his iconic backing band the Revolution released a video to reveal that they planned to reunite in his honor. Now, Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Bobby Z., Brown Mark, and Doctor Fink have come through on their promise, announcing that they will play two shows in Minneapolis on Sept. 2 and 3. They will be joined by original Revolution members Dez Dickerson and André Cymone.

Dickerson and Cymone left the Revolution before the group recorded Prince’s best-selling album Purple Rain. The band would go on to make Around the World in a Day and Parade before breaking up in 1986. Prince performed with the Revolution’s former members a few times over the years, including at the 2006 BRIT Awards with Melvoin and Coleman, who formed the duo Wendy & Lisa, as well as Sheila E.
