Dennis Quaid, one of America’s premier dad actors, threw a tantrum of Christian Bale magnitude in a video released Tuesday. The video quickly made the rounds, Redditors discussed it at length, and Jimmy Kimmel was implored to fess up to another prank. But it turns out the real culprit (or, depending on how you look at it, viral marketing genius) behind this video was humor site Funny or Die.

The video of “what really happened,” released today, shows the same slew of insults (the best of which, by far, being “dopey the dick”)—but adds new context in a longer sketch. The video includes an introduction that splices together the media coverage and skepticism that immediately surrounded Quaid’s ravings. You’ll have to watch for yourself to decide whether the full video is more entertaining than the original—and whether these viral pranks are even funnier in context, or a little disappointing once the curtains go up.
