In its first two months, the sprawling soap opera that is Empire has dominated ratings, largely due to some massive turnout by black audiences. But what about white America? That’s the not-so-important question SNL asked in its latest episode.

Enter Chip, the milquetoast Empire Records doesn’t want, need, or deserve—but one who provides a hilarious foil to the hysterics occurring at all times around him. Hemsworth is very good at playing an ultra-square white guy, but the real highlight here is Sasheer Zamata, as Cookie, telling him to “Take a dip, Chip.”
