After spending years in indie rock bands like Fleet Foxes and Saxon Shore, folk musician Josh Tillman is having something of a moment. His solo career, for which he uses the pseudonym Father John Misty, is exploding, with new album I Love You, Honeybear collecting critical plaudits far and wide. He’s been promoting the record the past few weeks, and recently stopped by Sirius XMU studios to perform a haunting acoustic cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box.”

It’s a bit strange hearing the song without wailing guitars and Cobain’s scratchy howl, but Misty makes it his own.
