In 2011, amid frequent delays to the release date of Tha Carter IV, Lil Wayne released an apology mixtape aptly titled Sorry 4 the Wait. Now, as his supposedly final full-length, Tha Carter V, experiences similar delays, Wayne has dropped Sorry 4 the Wait 2, and it’s a more than satisfactory stopgap for fans.

The tape, which can be downloaded here, features guests like Drake, 2 Chainz, and Mack Maine. Christina Milian propels a fun, raunchy remix of “Drunk in Love,” and Wayne delivers some of his best bars over popular hits like Rae Sremmurd’s “No Type,” Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Nigga,” and OG Maco’s “U Guessed It.” The wordplay, wit, and energy here are an improvement on Wayne's recent work, and an encouraging sign of things to come—fingers crossed that Tha Carter V sees daylight soon.
