In Slate, Jack Hamilton claimed Sleater-Kinney was once the best rock band in America, and with the new track “Surface Envy,” they’ve bid to reclaim that crown. Revealed following a Reddit AMA, and in anticipation of a forthcoming album and 2015 reunion tour, the track has Corin Tucker unleash her trademark howl amid twisting guitars.

Though drummer Janet Weiss insists the band has no further “plans for the distant future,” for now we can celebrate this taste of Dig Me Out-esque ’90s goodness. No word yet on whether Fred Armisen will take up the mantle as official Sleater-Kinney roadie.
