Return to Futurography

Over the past month we’ve published a handful of articles about who controls the internet as part of our ongoing project Futurography, which introduces readers to a new technological or scientific topic each month. We’ve published pieces on how ordinary people shape the web, the counter-revolutionary Chinese live-streaming revolution, the internet debates most important to the poor, and more.

With that behind us, we’d like to hear your thoughts. What do you think about these issues? Where should the field go from here? Should we worry about subterranean lizard people?

Come back next month for a roundup of your responses. And get ready for the return of Futurography in January, when we’ll study the spawn of Frankenstein.

This article is part of the “Who Controls the Internet?” installment of Futurography, a series in which Future Tense introduces readers to the technologies that will define tomorrow. Future Tense is a collaboration among Arizona State University, New America, and Slate.
