The Bishop of the Las Cruces (New Mexico) Diocese helped “Father Barney” mark his silver anniversary as a priest, and later paid him a small pension because, as he explained, “he was a brother priest.”

Tommy Deary’s First Communion: 1955
The Communion had to be held in the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, where Tommy Deary was having his tonsils out. It was from the same hospital that he was discharged a few days before he took his life.
