In the Aug. 3 "Jurisprudence," Dahlia Lithwick used the term "centrifugal force" to describe the physical law that pulls objects toward the center. The correct term for this phenomenon is "centripetal force."

In the Aug. 3 "Today's Blogs," Bidisha Banerjee misspelled the name of Richard Eriksson's blog, Just a Gwai Lo.

In the Aug. 2 "Books" article, Alan Wolfe misspelled Abbie Hoffman's name.

In the Aug. 2 "Explainer," Megan O'Connor wrote that the thermonuclear fusion of the hydrogen isotope deuterium is what makes stars shine. It's the fusion of different hydrogen isotopes. Also, due to an editing error, the article originally stated that Pluto is "two times smaller" than Mercury. Pluto is half the size of Mercury.

In the Aug. 1 "Fighting Words," Christopher Hitchens erroneously said that the Church of Scientology is a member of the American Council of Churches.

In the July 29 "Mixing Desk," Philip Sherburne incorrectly stated that DJ T.'s song samples Parliament's "Chocolate City." In fact, he samples "Big Footin'," a song from Parliament's album Chocolate City.

In the July 25 "Ad Report Card," Seth Stevenson incorrectly quoted a caveman featured in a Geico ad. The correct quote is: "That is really condescending."

In the June 23 "Music Box," Franklin Bruno misspelled the name of Minutemen member Dennes Boon.
