Slate is hiring paid interns for the summer, but the March 15 deadline is fast approaching. Send in your applications! We have openings in three departments: Culture, Politics, and The Slatest. More information about each internship is below.

Culture

Candidates for the culture internship must be available to work in Slate’s New York office at least four full days per week in the summer. They must be highly organized, have a proven interest in the arts, and be very familiar withSlate. They must also be able to work quickly, efficiently, and without much supervision. Strong writing and editing skills are required. To apply, email a cover letter that clearly outlines your availability and cultural interests to slatecultureinternship@gmail.com. Attach the following ina single Word document or PDF: a résumé; a 300-word critique of any "Culturebox" from the last year, written in the style of a Slate article; and three clips or writing samples.

Politics

Candidates for the politics internship must be available to work in Slate’s Washington, D.C. office at least four full days per week in the summer. They must be highly organized, have a proven interest in politics, and be very familiar with Slate. They must also be able to work quickly, efficiently, and without much supervision. For the right candidate, there may be opportunity for occasional writing. Candidates must be full-time students in college or graduate school. To apply, email a résumé; a 300-word critique of any Slate story from the last year relating to politics, policy, the law, or other Washington-related topics; and three clips or writing samples to slatedcinterns@gmail.com. The Slatest
Candidates for the Slatest internship must be available to work in Slate’s New York office at least four full days per week in the summer. Candidates must be highly energetic, self-starting individuals who have a nose for news, along with sharp and quick writing skills. Applicants should be tech-savvy and have great editorial judgment. Previous reporting experience is a plus, and the ability to write clean, quick, and clear copy is a must. To apply, email a résumé and very brief statement of interest to slatestjob@gmail.com.
