Slate is hiring interns for the spring. We offer internshps in five departments: Culture, DoubleX, Politics, Photo and Art, and the Slatest. More information about each internship is below.

The deadline for all spring internships is Nov. 15.

Culture
Candidates for the culture internship must be available to work in Slate’s New York office at least two full days per week in the spring. They must be highly organized, have a proven interest in the arts, and be very familiar withSlate. They must also be able to work quickly, efficiently, and without much supervision. Strong writing and editing skills are required. Candidates must be full-time students in college or graduate school. (Spring graduates qualify for our summer internship.) Attach the following ina single Word document or PDF: a résumé; a 300-word critique of any "Culturebox" from the last year, written in the style of a Slate article; and three clips or writing samples.

DoubleX
Candidates for the DoubleX internship must be available to work in Slate’s Washington, D.C. or New York office at least two days per week, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday to assist with the DoubleX Gabfest and other duties. They must be highly organized, have a proven interest in women’s issues, and be very familiar with Slate. They must also be able to work quickly, efficiently, and without much supervision. Strong writing and editing skills are required. Candidates must be full-time students in college or graduate school. (Spring graduates qualify for our summer internship.) Photo and Art
Candidates for the photo and art internship must be available to work in Slate’s New York office at least two full days per week in the spring. They should be highly organized visual thinkers who are comfortable working efficiently and without much supervision. Interns will gain hands-on experience editing photos, producing slideshows, and selecting art. This is an editing—not shooting—internship; however, there are ample opportunities for motivated interns to work on special projects and publish their work. Candidates must be full-time students in college or graduate school. (Spring graduates qualify for our summer internship.) Politics
Candidates for the politics internship must be available to work in Slate’s Washington, D.C. office at least two full days per week in the spring. They must be highly organized, have a proven interest in politics, and be very familiar with Slate. They must also be able to work quickly, efficiently, and without much supervision. For the right candidate, there may be opportunity for occasional writing. Candidates must be full-time students in college or graduate school. (Spring graduates qualify for our summer internship.) The Slatest
Candidates for the Slatest internship must be available to work in Slate’s New York office at least two full days per week in the spring. Candidates must be highly energetic, self-starting individuals who have a nose for news, along with sharp and quick writing skills. Applicants should be tech-savvy and have great editorial judgment. Previous reporting experience is a plus, and the ability to write clean, quick, and clear copy is a must. Candidates must be full-time students in college or graduate school.
