Here we go again. House Republicans are planning to hold a vote on an amended AHCA on Thursday. Prospects for the bill are better than the last go around—which isn’t saying much—thanks to changes aimed at appeasing both the conservative and the moderate wings of the chamber. For the former: provisions allowing states to waive Obamacare’s mandate that insurers provide “essential health benefits.” For the latter: (small) funding for state pools to help insure those with pre-existing conditions. One of the day’s big questions is whether those changes be enough to keep the bill from sinking—again. We’ll update you with whip counts and the latest developments on and off the Hill.
