Given Trevor Noah’s diverse, international background, there’s been much speculation about how his Daily Show will riff on matters of race. We got our first, hilarious answer Monday, when Noah and new correspondent Roy Wood Jr. discussed the burgeoning possibility that people may live on Mars. Good news, of course, but Wood asks the important question: “People like who?”

So begins a funny, raucous bit in which the duo debate the plausibility of black people going to Mars. For two men in their first nights on the job, Noah and Wood exhibit some crackerjack comic rapport, with Wood in particular looking like a huge pickup for a rebooted show in need of fresh, inventive personalities.
