Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton Impression May Get Us Through Election Season

With apologies to host Chris Hemsworth, a natural comic actor too often typecast by his strapping, Thor-like exterior, SNL’s latest installment was a long-overdue showcase for Kate McKinnon. McKinnon owned the episode from the cold open, in which she debuted a folksy, frenzied Hillary Clinton impression that only burnishes SNL’s tradition of skewering presidential hopefuls.

Her material, which sends up Clinton’s recent email controversy, is a riot, but there’s little doubt her best work will come when the presidential race picks up.
