The final episode of the first season of Serial aired Dec. 18, but debate about the multipart investigative series from This American Life was rekindled in the closing days of 2014 by a three-part interview with Jay Wilds, the key witness in the case against Adnan Syed. And so David Haglund and Katy Waldman sat down once again, this time to talk about whether that interview, conducted by Natasha Vargas-Cooper and published by the Intercept, changed our perspective on the case, on Syed’s guilt or innocence, and on Serial as a work of journalism.
