In a Feb. 15 "Five-Ring Circus" piece, Troy Patterson originally and incorrectly stated that figure skater Stephane Lambiel is from France. He is from Switzerland.
In the Feb. 15. "Musicbox," Jody Rosen originally and incorrectly identified a Queen Latifah CD as The Dana Stevens Album. Dana Stevens is a frequent contributor to Slate. The correct name of the CD is The Dana Owens Album. Also, the article originally misspelled the name of Sarah Vaughan.
In the Feb. 14 "Dispatch," Paul Burka originally said maintaining a horizontal line during a quail hunt is "easier" in rough country. It is harder to maintain the line under those circumstances.
In the Feb. 14 "Explainer," Keelin McDonell originally misspelled the name of the ancient city-state that traded in the plant silphium. It was Cyrene, not Cylene.
In the Feb. 14 "How They Do It," Eric Weiner misspelled Francois Mitterrand's last name.
In the "In Other Magazines" for the week of Feb. 13, Zuzanna Kobrzynski misspelled Kurt Andersen's name.
In a Feb. 11 "Today's Papers," Jesse Stanchak incorrectly stated that the New York Times fronted a story about a former CIA official's claim that the Bush administration used selective intelligence to justify invading Iraq. In fact, the story was teased on the front page, but ran inside. Stanchak also asserted that other papers should have run the story. The Washington Post actually ran a similar story the day before, which was mentioned in a Feb. 10 "Today's Papers."
If you believe you have found an inaccuracy in a Slate story, please send an e-mail to , and we will investigate. General comments should be posted in "The Fray," our reader discussion forum.
