What Is Slate Explorer?
Slate Explorer is a simple Windows application. Click on the department name--"Briefing," "Columns & Features," "Back of the Book," "Dispatches & Dialogues," and "Utilities"--and Slate Explorer's drop-down menus will list the contents of that department. Click on a headline and Slate Explorer will take you to that page. If your browser isn't already launched, Slate Explorer will launch it for you.
What Do I Need to Run Slate Explorer?
Slate Explorer requires either Windows 95 or Windows NT, and works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0 and above and Netscape Navigator 2.0 and above.
Yes, I Want to Install Slate Explorer
Click here to get the Slate Explorer. If you are running Internet Explorer just select "Open" or "Run" from the download dialog. If you are running Netscape, select "Save" and run the installation from your computer. Setup will take only a few minutes. (IMPORTANT: If you're reinstalling Slate Explorer, you must first remove the previous installation. How do you do that? Read on.)
How Do I Remove Slate Explorer?
- Open the Control Panel. To find this, click on the "Start" button and select "Settings" then "Control Panel."
- Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
- Select "Slate Explorer" from the list of programs and click the "Add/Remove" button. Slate Explorer will be removed from your system.
Slate Explorer Tips
When you install Slate Explorer, you'll be asked if you want it included in your Startup Group. We suggest that you say yes, so that Slate Explorer will be active at all times. Whenever you're online, Slate Explorer will contain the current table of contents, whether your browser is launched or not.
Slate Explorer labels the most recently posted articles as "New."
To reduce the size of Slate Explorer on your desktop, click the arrow next to the name "Slate." To restore, click the arrow again.
