The MySlate tool is a Microsoft Word macro that lets you easily select the articles you want from a copy of Slate on Paper, and build your own custom version to read in Word or print out for later reading.
How does it work?
When you install MySlate, it adds a command to Word's Tools menu called Print MySlate. Then, when you open Slate on Paper simply choose that, and an article selection box will let you choose how much (or how little) of Slate on Paper you would like. Choose Print Selections, and you have a custom-printed version of Slate on Paper.
What do I need to run MySlate?
To run MySlate, you need a machine running Microsoft Windows 95, 98, or NT 4.0, and have Microsoft Word 97.
How do I install the MySlate tool?
- Right click with your mouse on this link, choose Save Link As, and save this document in a folder where you will be able to find it, such as My Documents.
- Double-click on the document you just saved.
- Since it uses Word macros, you may be prompted as to whether you want to enable macros -- choose enable, as that is how the installer works.
- You may want to print out the instructions for later reference.
- Follow the instructions included in the document, and MySlate will be installed.
How do I remove the MySlate tool?
- Save and close any documents you have open in Microsoft Word.
- Go to the location where you originally saved the installation document and find the file named MySlate.dot, or open it from here.
- Right-click on MySlate.dot and choose Open, or click on the link above (again, you will need to enable macros).
- Click the Remove MySlate button.
