In a March 24 "Explainer," Daniel Engber originally stated that the United States has 309.3 billion barrels of oil in its inventory. The figure should have been 309.3 million barrels.

In a March 23 "Today's Blogs," Bidisha Banerjee originally stated that "NASA is about to launch a new shuttle." NASA is about to start launching shuttles again, but Discovery, the shuttle in question, was built in 1984.

In a March 22 "Today's Blogs," David Wallace-Wells described the condition of Terri Schiavo as "comatose." Though not all neurological experts agree about Schiavo's brain function, her condition is most commonly referred to as a "persistent vegetative state," a comalike condition in which the patient is still capable of some limited movement.
