In the Nov. 29 "Dispatch" from Romania, Sarah E. Richards originally claimed that "diesel-spewing Dacias dominate Romanian highways." In fact, Dacias run on gasoline. It also said that Bucharest's House of the People is the second-largest building in the world; this statement has been modified to note that it is "widely believed to be the second-largest office building in the world."

In the Nov. 29 "International Papers," a photo caption, based on information supplied by Reuters, originally referred to Lviv as being located in "Eastern Ukraine." In fact, Lviv is located in Western Ukraine.

In a Nov. 23 "Moneybox" Daniel Gross originally, and slightly misleadingly, described Spike Jonze as "the auteur behind Being John Malkovich." Jonze directed the movie, but the person who conceived it and wrote it was Charlie Kaufman.
