Corrections

In the May 28 edition of "Today's Papers," Sam Schechner misidentified Salvador Allende. Allende was the president of Chile, not of Argentina.

In the May 27 "Jurisprudence," David Feige erroneously referred to modulation transfer function, or MTF, standards as "modular transfer function standards." The MTF is a method of determining spatial resolution in images.

In a May 26 "Sports Nut," Lily Burana originally misstated the date when Professional Bull Riders Inc. was founded. It was 1992, not 1994.

In this May 14 "Movies" column, David Edelstein quoted a character saying, "The Earth is a conductor of ecological resonance"; the character said "acoustical resonance."
