An early practitioner of automatic writing. She represents the "femme-enfant," or woman-child, whose knowing-but-naive nature was the Surrealist paradigm. This comes from the steamiest of the many Surrealist-inspired gallery shows that are up in New York right now—Ubu Gallery’s “Behind the Surrealist Curtain: Sex, Sensuality, and Silence.” (It includes many more images that can’t be shown in a family publication.)
