"Say No to Dirty Politics and Yes to Our Strong Conservative Leader"

Sam Hall catches the new TV ad that Sen. Thad Cochran's campaign is running in Mississippi—one that did not get announced officially or pasted on the campaign's YouTube channel.

It says, accurately, that a "supporter" of Chris McDaniel showed up at a nursing home to (allegedly) get tape of Cochran's bed-ridden wife. (In a bit of rudeness toward Mississippi's great newspaper, it sources the story to a write-around in the Daily Caller.) It splays the photo of the man with McDaniel, which has always been one of the reasons this story is so intractable no matter what else is learned. And it torques off conservatives -- strategist John Yob calls the ad "over the top disgusting." They stay torqued as Cochran allies wave around a story that quotes the DA working this case saying "no person or persons have been cleared," implying (wrongly, it sounds like) that McDaniel himself could be tied to the conspiracy.
