This blog has covered Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst's desparate re-election bid before, as when Dewhurst mocked opponent Dan Patrick for having appeared shirtless in public without mentioning that this was at a "shirt off his back" fundraiser for children.
That was not Dewhurst's strangest line of attack. His campaign is somewhat obsessed with the fact that Patrick, bearer of a very manly name, was born "Daniel Goeb," which is the sort of name a foreigner or generally un-American person might have. Plenty of politicians have altered their names—you ever heard of President William Blythe III or President Leslie King?—but the Dewhurst campaign portrays Patrick's evolution as phony and shocking.
Thus: this parody of "Let It Go," in which an altered photo of Patrick karaokes his heart out until bleeding into old footage of himself.
This is what incredibly long runoff elections produce.
