Corrections

In the Jan. 9 "Explainer," Christopher Beam incorrectly wrote that the White House staff handles the president-elect's possessions when they arrive at the White House storage facility. They only handle them once they arrive on White House grounds.

In the Jan. 6 "Jurisprudence," Judith Resnik identified the man at the center of a pending Supreme Court case as Muhammad Saad Iqbal. The correct name is Javaid Iqbal.

In the Jan. 5 "Gallery," Scout Tufankjian incorrectly stated in a caption that Barack Obama's great-great-grandfather's home is in Kempton, Iowa. Kempton is in Indiana.

If you believe you have found an inaccuracy in a Slate story, please send an e-mail to corrections@slate.com, and we will investigate. General comments should be posted in "The Fray," our reader discussion forum.
