In a Jan. 31 "Moneybox," Daniel Gross gave the wrong first name for AT&T's chief financial officer. His name is Thomas Horton, not Timothy Horton.

In a Jan. 31 "Culturebox," Jess Row said Susan Sontag's story "The Way We Live Now" was published in 1987. It was published in 1986.

A Jan. 24 "Obit" column and a Jan. 28 "Surfer Girl" entry incorrectly stated that Johnny Carson retired from The Tonight Show in 1991. He left the show on May 22, 1992.
