An April 20 "Assessment" about the Columbine killers originally identified Dr. Robert Hare as a psychiatrist. He is a psychologist.

In the "Supreme Court Dispatches" from April 19, Dahlia Lithwick wrote: "Is Ring retroactive, meaning you die even though the conviction was unconstitutional; or prospective, meaning that if you were lucky enough to murder someone in 2002, as opposed to 1982, you'll be resentenced by a jury?" It has now been amended to remove the confusion about retroactivity, thusly: "Is Ring prospective, meaning you die even though the conviction was unconstitutional and that so long as you were lucky enough to murder someone in 2002, as opposed to 1982, you'll be resentenced by a jury?"

In the April 18 "Today's Papers" column, Michael Brusoriginally misspelled the name of the UK's intelligence agency. It is MI5, not M1-5.

In the April 16 "In Other Magazines" column, Josh Levinoriginally and incorrectly stated that Sylvester Croom will be the first African-American head coach in the Southeastern Conference. He will be the conference's first black head football coach.
