The Federal Reserve just released its periodic statement explaining how the Fed's leaders view the economy and how they plan to act in the coming weeks and months. These statements come out every six weeks, and they affect stock markets and government policies around the world. To help you read the Fed's latest statement, published this afternoon, Slate and NPR's "Planet Money"have collaborated to translate it into plain English, a tool developed by Slate Labs to toggle between official text and our natural-language translation.
