In March, Politico reported that Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski—who has been charged with battery for allegedly grabbing and pulling a female reporter so hard he left bruises on her arm—had been overheard loudly calling a female co-worker a “cunt” at his previous job. The report was attributed to “three sources” and Lewandowski doesn’t seem to have denied it publicly, but Politico wrote that the woman involved declined to comment and the site did not publish her name. Now, however, a seemingly different woman who worked for the same organization—Americans for Prosperity, a fiscally conservative activism group—has told the Daily Beast on the record that Lewandowski called her a “fucking bitch”. From the Beast report:

Lisa Bast, another Ohio regional field director at the time, said Lewandowski once threatened to “come really down hard” on her if she didn’t get 50 people to attend an AFP event in Akron.

After she missed a 7 a.m. conference call to prepare for the event, her phone rang.

“Corey gets on the phone and defames my character. He called me incompetent, called me a loser,” Bast said. “He called me a f**king b**ch, yelling, ‘I am going to fire your f**king ass!’”

Lewandowski doesn’t appear to have commented on the allegation. He has said he is innocent of the battery charges against him.

Trump, who has a history of close associations with violent and/or criminal and/or verbally abusive individuals, has called Lewandowski “a very decent man.”
