Having recorded soothing children’s audiobooks and eloquent voicemail greetings to great acclaim, it’s no wonder that Samuel L. Jackson would turn to Game of Thrones recapping for another voice-over gig. And goodness does he deliver: Profanity-laced, detailed, and comedically sublime, this journey through the first five seasons of HBO’s fantasy epic is both very much in the spirit of Jackson at his iconic best and surprisingly thorough in its coverage of the plot machinations that have made the series so addictively popular.
Even if you’re a bit worn down by the insane amounts of Game of Thrones coverage of the past few weeks, this is definitely worth a viewing. We’ve already heard his take on snakes—just wait until you hear what Jackson has to say about those dragons.
