Samuel L. Jackson is one of those actors whose voice alone is iconic—no one can deliver dialogue with quite the same cadence. So it’s only natural to wish that you could recruit his eloquent speaking voice to greet callers to your phone in an outgoing voicemail message. And now you’ve got your wish: While appearing on The Late Show, Colbert asked Jackson to fulfill his lifelong dream and record such a message, and Jackson happily obliged.
