Surprise! Björk’s New Album Vulnicura Is Now Out on iTunes.

Last week Björk announced her ninth album, Vulnicura, with a release date set for March. Unfortunately, the entire project, which was made in collaboration with Arca and The Haxan Cloak, leaked online days later—two months ahead of schedule. In response, Björk is releasing the nine-track album to iTunes today—it’s already available to purchase in the U.K. iTunes store and should be available in the U.S. shortly.

The album, which follows 2011’s Biophilia, is one Björk has described in a Facebook post as “a complete heartbreak album” meant to provide “a crutch to others and prove how biological this process is.” According to Björk, the album took only a few months to make, was recorded in Iceland, and will be rolling out worldwide over the next 24 hours.
