Exclusive Premiere: Key & Peele Imagines the Dark Side of the Make-A-Wish Program

Key & Peele will air a Halloween-themed episode next week. Such holiday episodes tend to bring about particularly memorable sketches from the comic duo (see, for example, “Sexy Vampires” and “Racist Zombies”), and the first sketch available to watch from the upcoming episode is no different.

A terminally ill Liam (Jordan Peele) is visited at his hospital bed by Dr. Gupta (Keegan-Michael Key) and Marian Glass (Lauren Lapkus from Orange Is the New Black), a representative from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. When probed to express his dying wish, Liam’s response is, well, less than heart-warming. Of course, the sketch only gets creepier and weirder from there, and Peele, adorned with a great bowl-cut hairpiece, gives an particularly funny performance that combines elements of Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist and Danny Torrance from The Shining.
