Al Gore’s Inconvenient Sequel Will Be Updated to Include Trump’s Climate Withdrawal

Al Gore gets to the (power)point.

Paramount

When An Inconvenient Sequel, the follow-up to Al Gore’s climate-change documentary An Inconvenient Truth, premiered at Sundance, Donald Trump had just taken office, and Gore was careful to speak diplomatically about his relationship with the new president in hopes he might be able to sway his views on environmental action. With Trump’s announcement that he would  withdraw the U.S. from the Paris agreements, Gore has evidently decided the time for diplomacy is over, blasting the decision as “reckless and irresponsible.” Paramount, which is distributing the film, has announced that it will be updated before its July 28 limited release to include Trump’s decision. (It will go into wide release the following week.)

In order to strike while the iron, and the atmosphere, is hot, it’s also screening the film for free on Tuesday, June 6, with tickets available through AnInconvenientSequelScreenings.com. Click the link and enter your zip code to find one near you.
