Obama Burns Trump, Sings Rihanna as He Slow Jams the News With Jimmy Fallon

With eight months left in his presidency, Barack Obama returned to The Tonight Show last night to tout his accomplishments over the past 7½ years—in the form of, naturally, a slow jam. Host Jimmy Fallon fights hard not to crack a smile as he refers to the most powerful man in the world as “Bareezus,” “Prez dispenser” and “Barack-y with the good hair,” while Obama does his best to stay serious even as his lines about economic recovery and marriage equality are punctuated by Fallon’s “oh yeah”s. The president jokes about looking forward to a nice Hawaiian vacation (“in 223 days, but who’s counting?”) and gamely attempting to sing the chorus of Rihanna’s “Work.”

Obama’s appearance on Tonight came the same day he announced his endorsement of Hillary Clinton, and it seems that he just couldn’t resist taking a few jabs at a certain Republican presidential candidate while he was there. “I don’t want to name any names,” he promises, at which point Roots frontman Tariq Trotter helpfully sings, “He’s talking about Donald Trump.” According to Obama, orange is not the new black.
