Howdy, Pardon

On his last day in office, President Clinton pardoned more than 100 people, including Whitewater felon Susan McDougal, former CIA Director John Deutch, and former bank-robber Patricia Hearst Shaw. In 1998, Slate's "Explainer" told how to apply for a pardon. (Read the article here.) Last year, an "Explainer" revealed the difference between a pardon and commutation. (Read the article here.)
