Picking NBC's Personal Worst
By Joseph NoceraPosted Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at 9:30 PM ET
Last week, I wrote a "Sports Nut" about all the sob stories drowning NBC's Olympics coverage. Well, it keeps getting worse. During a recent equestrian event, the commentators actually applauded the indomitable spirit of a horse who had overcome heart trouble to compete.
I invite Slate readers to keep their eyes peeled for more tearful excess this week. Send your favorite NBC sob stories here, and I'll post the best submissions later in the week.
Joseph Nocera is an editor at large at Fortune magazine.
