Allowing him space, Judith, was inevitable and fair, once you made your initial choice to profile him, and I am not critical of it. But it was only inevitable once you started down this path. It is also true that the Guardian published a link to MacDonald 10 days after you did, so Slate's is not the only link to MacDonald. And certainly his profile would have increased some as a result of the trial. But it is undeniable that your treatment has increased his visibility far beyond what it would otherwise have been.
