The various King assassination conspiracy theories are explored and discredited in Gerald Posner's new book, Killing the Dream: James Earl Ray and the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. (which is my source for much of the King information). Trained as a lawyer, Posner has become a one-man truth squad, debunking everything from the JFK assassination to Ross Perot's delusions. In his new book, he not only dispenses with earlier versions of King assassination conspiracism but also recounts how the ABC newsmagazine Turning Point, in an episode aired last year, exposed Pepper's ridiculous theories.
