As it happens, there is a plausible case to be made that the continuing premium placed on blockbuster films makes theaters that can show those movies on multiple screens--i.e., multiplexes--more valuable than ever before, and that consolidation in the industry will make distribution more efficient by eliminating overlap. Of course, that also means that there will be less competition for consumers' movie dollars. But hey, you can't have everything.
