Why access the Net from a La-Z-Boy? The Digital Baidarka is extreme performance seating in which to surf the World Wide Web. It includes a recycled-content monocoque structure, parallel waterproof Pentiums fore and aft, heads-up display eyewear, tactile control paddle, and satellite-receptive sails. This is a concept ideally suited to the simultaneous navigation of physical and informational space.

George Scott is an industrial designer in Seattle. His work concentrates on the creation of hybrid product designs. He is also chair and assistant professor of the Industrial Design Program at the University of Washington, where he teaches product development and computer-aided industrial design.
